Overall Opinion:

To me, this is a very average prenatal vitamin so I ranked it 2.5 out of 5 stars.

After testing it out, I found some things I like about this one, and some things I don’t.

The price is great; you can’t beat how cheap it is.

This prenatal has two parts, a multivitamin and an Omega- 3 pill. Overall, the ingredients are pretty good, but it’s missing a few key things.  The good news is it has a great amount of Folic Acid, which is the main vitamin expecting moms look for in their prenatals.

It’s missing Vitamin K and Choline, and is low in other vitamins such as Vitamin C, Calcium, and Iodine.

Even the Omega-3 pill is low in Omega-3s, which I think is odd.

This prenatal vitamin also made me tired about an hour after I took it each day.  I’m already extremely tired being pregnant, so I don’t need a prenatal vitamin adding to that exhaustion.

So overall, there are some good and bad things about this prenatal vitamin.

Detailed Opinion:

Ease of Use
This prenatal vitamin has 2 parts to it, a prenatal multivitamin and a DHA pill.  So you need to take one of each pill per day.

The multivitamin comes in the form of pink tablets, and the DHA pills are liquid gels.

Both of the pills are on the larger size, especially the pink multivitamins.

You need to take both of them with food, but you can take them at the same time.  So I’d usually take mine either with lunch or dinner.

I wish you didn’t need to take these with food; I’d rather take my prenatals right before bed.

Taste
You swallow both of these, so initially there’s no taste.

However, throughout the day I got fishy burps from the DHA liquid gels, which was gross.

Ingredient Analysis
The ingredients in One A Day Women’s Prenatal are decent.

The multivitamins contains a lot of vitamins I look for, but it also left a few out.

It contains 800mcg of Folic Acid, which is a great amount.  This is a common amount found in most prenatal vitamins.  I’m happy to see it has a good amount of folic acid, because this ingredient is so crucial during your baby’s development stages.

It also has great amounts of Vitamin A, D, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, Iron, Zinc, and Biotin.  This is great, because these vitamins all play individual roles in your baby’s development, and you don’t want to be without them during pregnancy.

Now, it’s a little low in Vitamin C, Calcium, and Iodine.  You want to make sure to get enough of these 3 vitamins.  Vitamin C is crucial in fighting off infections, collagen production, and helps support iron absorption.  Calcium is needed for fetal bone development as well as tooth development.  And Iodine is a mineral that aids in maintaining a healthy thyroid, which is critical during pregnancy.

There’s no Vitamin K at all in here, and there’s also no Choline.  I was disappointed to see this, so make sure you’re getting these vitamins elsewhere.

Now, the Omega-3 soft gel has 223 mg of DHA and EPA in it.  That’s a good start, but I honestly which it had more in it.  They could’ve made it a higher amount, especially because they made it its own pill!

Side Effects
I got some fishy burps after taking the Omega-3 liquid gel.  This is always a gross side effect.

I also felt rundown/tired about an hour after I’d take this prenatal vitamin.  I don’t know why this occurred, but it wasn’t a welcome side effect.

Price/Value
One A Day Women’s Prenatal comes with a 30-day supply for $14.49.  That’s super cheap, at only $0.48 per day.

Guarantee
It just depends on where you purchase them.  They don’t sell them through their actual website, which is odd.  I bought mine at Target and they’re not really clear whether you can return a used supplement.  You can return used beauty products, so maybe you can?
